Boston College broke out of a tight final round duel with Fairleigh Dickinson University to capture the 2021 Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate.  Coach Drew Kayser’s Eagles were also the 2014 champions, while this was FDU’s first appearance in the “Ry Collegiate”.

BC was led by tournament medalist Mac Lee, who’s closing back nine 33 capped off by birdies on 17 and 18 (back to back par 5’s) gave him a one stroke victory over Tyler Hahn of Bryant and Leon Heitz of FDU.  His 139 total (5 under par) tied the tournament individual record held by Adam Xiao of Harvard in 2019.

The tournament was played under sunny, warm, breezy conditions all weekend.  Scoring was excellent on the Hop Meadow Country Club 6,867 yard par 72 layout, as Sunday’s final round saw 18 players post under par scores (a tournament record).

This was the 11th playing of the tournament which is sponsored by the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Foundation and hosted by Fairfield University.  This year’s field had 15 schools from 8 different conferences.
